COVID-19: TY DANJUMA FOUNDATION DONATES RELIEF MATERIALS FOR VULNERABLE PERSONS IN KATSINA

The Victims Support Fund (VSF) of the TY Danjuma Foundation has donated food items, medical equipments and hygiene products worth N100 million to vulnerable households in Katsina State.

The Chairman of the foundation, TY Danjuma made the disclosure today in Katsina at the flag-off of the distribution of the palliatives.

Danjuma, represented by Barrister Toyosin Akerele-Ogunsiji, said that the palliatives was aimed at cushioning the effects of Covid-19 pandemic on the people.

He said that the foundation has donated food items, medical equipments and hygiene products to vulnerable households in Katsina state estimated at N100 million.

Danjuma, who said that they have visited many states of the federation, pointed out that Katsina is the 15th state, the foundation provided the palliatives.

He said that they hope that the items would reach the targeted vulnerable households.

In his remarks, Gov Aminu Masari, said that the foundation has provided succour to Covid-19 victims, including those affected by banditry in the state.

Masari noted that the support would be distributed to 2,211 vulnerable households across the state.

“We are distributing to 2,211, vulnerable households, equal number will be distributed by NGOs to the beneficiaries,” he said.

He revealed that the items included ten kilogrammes of rice, beans, maize, each, two kilogrammes of salt, four litres of vegetable oil, blankets for children, hygiene kits, among others.

Masari said that the government took some measures to fight against the pandemic and banditry in the state.

The governor revealed that the support has complemented the efforts of the state government in addressing the pandemic and menace of banditry.

He assured that the items would be distributed to the targeted people through implementation committees set up by the state government.

Also speaking, the Chairman, Covid-19 Emergency Response Committee, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, the emergence of Covid-19 has brought cooperation and solidarity among public and private sector.

He commended the foundation for the support, assured that the items would be distributed to the targeted people.

He revealed that the state government has set up implementation committee with membership drawn from relevant government agency, community leaders, civil society and faith based organizations
