KATSINA EMIR FROWNS AT SELECTIVE JUSTICE

The emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman for the prosecution and punishment of whoever commits any offence irrespective of his social status in the society.

Usman who made the call weekend at the turbanning ceremony of some prominent persons in the emirate, said selective Justice was the root of the myriad of challenges facing the society.

He said ” someone will be caught with hard drugs or committing murder but within few days you will see him working as a free man”.

According to him, society will only have peace and achieve progress if offenders were punished in accordance with the provisions of the law.

The emir therefore called on all people of the state to come together irrespective of their political affiliations to come together and assist in overcoming the challenges facing the society.

” Now is not the time of showing divisions, we need to come together to face the many problems bedeviling our people” he said.

Usman urged people to intensify prayers for God to intervene and bring peace and prosperity in the state and the country at large.

He advised thoes turbaned to put more efforts in the service of God and their communities.
