The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) Katsina State office is currently training 1700 persons drawn from across 34 local government of the state under its special Open Apparenticeship Scheme.
The state NDE Coordinator, Alhaji Yari a Sa’adu Iya disclosed this yesterday in Kankara Katsina state shortly after declaring open a constituency training organised for women and youth supported by the senator representing Funtua zone.
Yarima further disclosed that under the scheme 50 person we’re selected from each of the 34 local government of the state.
The coordinator noted that the selected persons were train on GSM repairs adding that N6000 would be given to each participant at the end of the three months training as a start up capital.
Similarly, Yarima further disclosed that the Directorate in Katsina has commenced its graduate attachment program where he said graduates were posted to work in schools and other establishments.
Under this program he said 40 graduates were selected, disclosing that additional 16 person were also recruited under the program.
Yarima also said they intended to empower 10,000 persons under their micro enterprises enhancement scheme.
He added that under the Senator Mandiya program 550 person were selected from across the 11 local government he is representing.
He stated that under the senator’s program women and youth would be trained on trades such as tailoring, sewing, knitting and farming activities among others.
In a remark, the DG of NDE, Dr. Nasir Lada Muhammad Argungu has commenced the senator for the initiative which he said will go a long way in alleviating poverty In the society.
Argungu who was represented by a national director of the directorate, Engineer Yakubu Mani Umar urged that participants to make good use of opportunity to improve their economic status and that of their families.
