Zamfara NUJ endorses Bako as acting chairman

The Zamfara state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ,has endorsed the vice chairman of the union, Comrade Bello Ibrahim Boko as its acting chairman.

This is contained in a communique signed by the acting chairman of the union, Bello Ibrahim Boko and his secretary,Abubakar Ahmed at the end of an emergency meeting.

The communique added that “with over 70 per cent of the members constituting more than two third in attendance to ratify the endorsement of the council Vice-chairman, Comrade Bello Ibrahim Boko as the acting chairman”.

It further disclosed that the endorsement followed the transfer of the former chairman, Comrade Abdulrazak Bello from Zamfara to Sokoto state and the subsequent meeting of the State Executive Council (SEC) which endorsed the Vice-chairman to act on the capacity.

“The congress ratification was through a motion moved by Mohammed Munirat Nasir of the Correspondents’ Chapel and seconded by Salamatu Umar, NAWOJ chairperson with no counter” it stated.
