Bandits operating within the Jibia axis of Katsina state have killed 17 hunters and abduct 25.
A leader of the hunters who spoke to Our Correspondent on condition of anonymity disclosed that the incident occured last Wednesday.
He added that the hunters were on hunting expedition around Tsayau forest in Jibia local government when the bandits launched a deadly attack.
According to him ” it was lack of knowledge of the terrain that took the hunters close to the bandits camp”.
Similarly he that the bandits are now demanding N50 million for the release of the 25 abducted hunters. They have threaten to kill them if we did not pay”.
He noted that the hunters are from different parts of Katsina that include, Tsagero, Abukur,Kanyar Uban Dana, Mashi, Fadi Gurje,Kutare,Dandagoro, Muduru as well as other villages around Jibia area.
