Worried by the incessant outcries of lands and roads encroachment katsina state house of assembly is to embarked on amendment of the existing laws related to lands and survey to forestall occurance.
The chairman committee of lands and survey Alhaji Salisu Hamza Rimaye hinted this on Thursday when he lead other members to various locations in the metropolis where there is cases of enchrochment.
The committee which is on a oversight function took look at a residential quarter along Dutsinma road near national library and a building bordered with the state civil service commission along kaita roads where the owners enchroches the main road.
Similarly Alhaji Salisu Hamza led members to a new layout behind Umaru Musa Yar’adua university to ascertain how far the government should provide an access road and other social amenities in the area.
The committee accompanied by the commissioner of land and survey Alhaji Usman Nadada oberved that lack of stiff lands legislation hindered the operation of the ministry and agencies in conduction their mandate.
Earlier the committee visited ministry of lands and survey where the chairman Alhaji Salisu Hamza Rimaye commanded the ministry for exceeding revenue allocated for the quarter.
He thanked the ministry for providing plots to individuals,associations and corporate bodies.
Alhaji Salisu Hamza promised to present all the request to the house for consideration.
In a remark a house leader and committee vice chairman call on private land developers to call to the site so as to attract people to developed the new layout across the state.
The commissioner who thanked members for the visit advocated for relevant laws to enable the ministry and it’s agencies to leave up to expectation in discharging it’s responsibility.
Other members of the committee during the visit included Shamsuddini Abubakar Dabai and Secretary Babangida Ahmad Kankia.
