A non governmental organization, the Human Rights Network of Nigeria, Katsina state chapter said it has zero tolerance for all forms of human rights abuses and trafficking, drug abuse and rape, stressing that, it only has respect for the rule of law.
Comrade Abdullahi Izma Yamadi, the state coordinator of the organization stated this when he led other officials on a courtesy visit to the controller correctional service, Alhaji Muhammad Abdulmumini in his office.
“The organization in Katsina state will bring to the bearest minimum such abuses to ensure sanity amongst the people, the rule of law must be respected”, he added.
He commended the state chief judge for his foresight to establish the community conflicts and dispute resolution centres, saying it will go a long way in creating the desired awareness amongst the people.
According to him, the centres would also foster unity and understanding amongst the population.
Yamadi however assured that, the NGO would continue to monitor the activities of the correctional service for improved service delivery.
He called on wealthy individuals in the state to assist the correctional centres in areas of rehabilitation, equipments for the skills acquisition centres and the integration of convicts into the society after their jail terms.
Alhaji Muhammad Abdulmumini, the state controller correctional service, responding promised to partner with the NGO for effective service delivery.
He charged the officials of the Human Rights Network to sustain their resilience towards service to humanity.
