A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Yobe State, Engr Dr. Garba, has distribution bag of rice worth millions of naira to six local government areas of Yobe-North senatorial district.
The items which include bags of rice and cartons of spaghetti and cash is aimed at alleviating the sufferings of the benefiting local governments during the period of Ramadan Kareem, as well the dreaded covid 19 pandemic.
Speaking to some beneficiaries from four local government areas in Yobe North, which comprised o
Karsuwa, Yusfari, Nguru, Machina, Bade and Jakusko, expressed hsppines over the exercise.
According to him, “I believed my people have worked for the party over the years, giving them such opportunity could boost their morals and relevance, not just for financial benefit but for political benefits” He said.
Dr. Garba described that, the initiative was imperative because of the need to assist Muslims during the Ramadan. I know for a fact that, it will take time to overcome the economic and financial hardship, but we must always look for ways to support our people.
He added that, ” I will like to tell you that, as from today, We will continue to do this for our constituents, becouse our people are suffering due to none performing of present Senator” he said.
Garba warned those entrusted with the distribution to be just and discharge their duty with fear of Allah. He called on people of the state to take advantage of the holy month of Ramadan to seek for divine intervention in the restoration of peace in the state.
Added that, ” You are the future leaders of this nation. So always see yourself as a special creature endowed with God’s blessings to cause a change in the society. We have future Ministers, Presidents and leaders of thoughts among you,” he said.
“I truly love supporting the less privileged in the society. It is call to serve the weak and the poor. I personally donation of several food items and exercises text Book to the primary and secondary school, as to show love and care” he said.
Engr challenged Wealthy Nigerians to remember the poor in their midst especially through Philanthropy and investing into economic activities and empowerment that can uplift their standard of living.
He said the welfare of the people should remain an uttermost concern to all and sundry especially if the drive to uplift the quality of lives of Nigerians is to be realized.
