Katsina people don’t like paying taxes- Chief of staff

The Chief of Staff, Katsina government house, Alhaji Muntari Lawal has lamented that the people of the state dislike paying taxes.

The Chief of staff made the lamentation while speaking in a Vision FM radio political programme “Kowane Tsuntsu”.

He noted that the state as of now is facing serious financial difficulties, stressing that only the payment of taxes will help revive the financial position of the state.

Lawal further disclosed that to arrest the situation the government had concluded arrangements to boosts it’s tax revenue and the payment of cattle levy.

The Chief of staff noted that unlike other states faced with similar predicament, Katsina did not cut workers salary or retrench them.

He added that the only way out is to strengthen the mechanism of paying taxes by citizens of the state.
