A PDP stalwart and close associate of late president ‘Yar’adua in Katsina state, Alhaji Shehu Inuwa Imam has disclosed that he is under serious pressure to contest for the governorship seat in Katsina state in 2023.
Imam made the disclosure while addressing a cross section of PDP stakeholders at the party Secretariat in Katsina
He said ” my interest is to contest for Senatorial seat of Funtua zone but a lot of people are pressurizing me to contest for the governorship seat”.
Imam noted that he was initially reluctant about the idea but when the pressure become too much he decided to give it a rethink.
The stalwart further disclosed that with the worsening situation in Katsina state a lot of people believed that he is the only one that can bring sanity to the state.
He therefore urged people to continue to pray for him and carry the message of his mission across the state.
Imam a close associate of late President ‘Yar’adua was a former chairman Faskari local government, chairman Katsina primary board and a member representing Faskari-Sabuwa-Kankara in the house of Representatives.
He also contested for Funtua senatorial seat under the PDP in the 2019 general elections.
