-Call on Nigerian Government not to support Isreal

By Rabi’u Idris, in Abuja

The Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’a Wa’iqamatis Sunnah, JIBWIS-Nigeria, under the leadership of Sheikh Dr Abdullahi Bala Lau, have strongly warned the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, against making inciting statements about the continuing brutal attacks on palestinians in Gaza.

In their statement released, Monday, where CAN urged the Federal Government to end it’s support for Palestinians and warned President Buhari against siding with the Palestinians.

The Isreali forces attacks resulted in the death of of over 190 Palestinians, including 58 children and 34 women as well as about 1,235 persons that are suffering varying degrees of injuries. And about ten people killed in Isreal that includes two children.

Despite widespread condemnation of these brutal attacks by the Isreali forces on Palestinians and their places of worship, why is CAN preventing President Muhammadu Buhari from joining other world leaders in condemning a clear violation of Palestinians rights that are as well human beings? Why is CAN calling the Nigerian government to lend it’s support on the brutal Isreali attacks on the Palestinians in Gaza.

We therefore called on the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, to refrain from such inciting statements that may lead to unnecessary religious crisis in this period when the country is being faced with security challenges, which our security agencies are already working so diligently to curtail.

Article 3 of the Universal Declaration on Human rights states that everyone has a right to life, liberty and security.

Palestinians are no exception. Their rights, liberty and security must be protected without bias.

JIBWIS, however, called on the International community to come together and bring an end to this deadly bombardment on Gaza by the Isreali forces and the unlawful occupation of Palestinian territory, as it’s a clear violation of their fundamental human rights.

Therefore, there’s nothing wrong for Nigeria to stand against the brutal attacks on the Palestinians as it’s a clear violation of their fundamental human rights which article 3 of the Universal Declaration on Human rights seeks to protect.
