The emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman has foreclosed the idea of any ransom payment or dialogue with the bandits,saying that the ” bandits only deserve to be killed”.
The emir stated this today while speaking at a stakeholders meeting on security at the government house Katsina.
He added that since the bandits have decided to go after people’s lives they also according to him ” don’t deserve to live”.
Usman similarly lamented the delay in prosecution and punishment of offenders, alleging that “this is not good in serving as deterrent to other criminals”.
The emir also warned against selling houses or lands to criminal element, vowing to punish any land agent that assisted criminals to acquire houses or la da in his domain.
Usman therefore commended Katsina state governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari for taking pro-active measures against insecurity in the state.
In his remarks, minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Muhammad has stressed the commitment of the Federal Government in ending banditry and terrorism in the country.
