A head of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention, the Coalition of Nigeria APC Youth support groups has urged the Buni led caretaker committee of the APC not to allow any of the former governors take the party national charmanship position.

Some former governors have already indicate their interest to run for the party’s number one seat.

The leader of the group Adamu Dahiru Lanzai in press briefing on Saturday disclosed that the former governors are the problem of the party.

He maintained that giving the party leadership to the ex-governors is an attempt to decimate all mediation thrives undertaking by the APC caretaker committee over the last one and half year.

He said the Adams Oshimale’s dissolved leadership that almost destroy the party should serve as deterrent to the APC.

He said “Just like Oshimole did, most of the ex-governors misbehave using their influence to overpower the party affairs in States, instead of allowing the serving governors to take charge of their domains.

He said such behaviour is the reason to most of the crisis happening  within the party.

“Recall after the crisis that engulfed Oshimole party leadership, a caretaker committee was constituted led by Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state who has so far recorded incredible successes in restoring the party to its lost glory.

“Buni has put back the aggrieved party members and the new members into the party’s fold, these include both serving, and former governors, senators and members of the house of represent atives among other political bigwigs from the opposition.

“As growing politicians and future leaders of the party, we believe giving the party to the former governors may undermine all the success made and ignite another crisis that would destroy the party and give our main opposition the PDP a chance in the upcoming 2023 elections.

“There are loyal party members with fresh energy that can competently move the party forward, we therefore advised our party to use its avenues in selecting the best hand that would lead the party to the victory in the next 100 years to come”
